Colorado schools administer the PARCC assessments for English language arts and mathematics that align with the Colorado Academic Standards. The tests measure complex skills like critical-thinking and problem solving – skills that were not fully measured on previous tests.
The PARCC-developed tests are part of our state’s overall testing system, called the Colorado Measures of Academic Success, which also includes tests in science and social studies.
Parents and guardians will receive score reports from their school district in late summer, summarizing how their student performed on the English language arts/literacy and mathematics tests. The score reports in year two feature valuable, customized information on student score results, in an easy-to-read, simple format.
